Assistant Principal

Ms Lakecia D. Martin is the 2023-2024 Assistant Principal and School Improvement Officer of Woolfolk Middle School.  She is a native of Greenwood, MS. She is a 2001 graduate of Greenwood High School. Ms. Martin obtained a Bachelors of Science in History from Mississippi Valley State University, a Master’s in Education with a specialization in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment, and an ED.S. in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Delta State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Delta State University as well.  

Ms. Martin has 16 years of experience in education. During those years she has had the opportunity to teach K-12 grade in the areas Music, Art, ELA, and Social Studies.  She has held various leadership positions in her career such as a Lead and Mentor Teacher to aspiring educators. She also served as Assistant Principal at Carver Elementary in Indianola, MS.  She is the recipient of numerous awards for her diligent work ethic. Her awards include: 2015 Teacher of the Year (Leflore County School

District), 2018 Teacher of the Year (Greenwood Public School District), and SCCSD Administrator “Killing It” Award for building teacher capacity to grow students.  

Ms. Martin is deeply committed to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for all students which is displayed through her high-spirited personality and the motivation of everyone who crossed her path. She also believes in the power of education to inspire growth, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Her motto is: “Anything is possible when you believe”.

Outside of her career, Ms. Martin takes pride in spending time with her two sons Kyler (15) and Cedric Jr. (10), other family, close friends. She also enjoys traveling, shopping, and singing at church. She has stated that she is thrilled to become a part of this incredible school community and district.
